The Iraqi American Union (IAU) has been a beacon of philanthropy and community support for several years, consistently making a significant impact on both the local Michigan community and the Iraqi diaspora overseas. Through the dedication and generosity of our members, we've been able to contribute almost $50,000 to numerous diverse projects.
The Iraqi American Union (IAU) has been a beacon of philanthropy and community support for several years, consistently making a significant impact on both the local Michigan community and the Iraqi diaspora overseas. Through the dedication and generosity of our members, we've been able to contribute almost $50,000 to numerous diverse projects.
Each year, our flagship initiative is the IAU Gala, a dynamic event that not only brings the community together but also raises crucial funds. In 2022 & 2024, this gala proved to be a tremendous success, enabling us to raise $10,000 for scholarships, which offers deserving students opportunities they might not have otherwise had. Additionally, we extended our reach globally by donating $20,000 to an Iraqi orphanage, creating a safe and nurturing environment for children in need. Furthermore, we allocated $2,500 to support the victims of the Syria earthquake and $2,500 to Palestine Children Relief, demonstrating our commitment to providing aid beyond our immediate borders.

By ensuring that children have access to clean and functional facilities, we contribute to their overall well-being and education.
